‘The chairman of the UN’s
\nIntergovernmental Panel on Climate Change<\/a> (IPCC), has used bogus claims
\nthat Himalayan glaciers<\/a> were melting to win grants worth hundreds of
\nthousands of pounds. <\/font>Rajendra
\nPachauri’s Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), based in New Delhi,
\nwas awarded up to \u00a3310,000 by the Carnegie Corporation of New
\nYork and the lion’s share of a \u00a32.5m EU<\/a> grant funded by European
\ntaxpayers. <\/font><\/p>\n

It means that EU<\/a> taxpayers are funding
\nresearch into a scientific claim about glaciers that any ice researcher
\nshould immediately recognise as bogus. The revelation comes just a week
\nafter The Sunday Times highlighted serious scientific flaws in the
\nIPCC’s 2007 benchmark report on the likely impacts of global warming<\/a>.’<\/font><\/p>\n
