Harold Ford (D-Tenn.) has provided a little levity. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/blogs\/dailypolitics\/2010\/01\/ford-targets-gillibrand-but-ta.html\">Here<\/a>, for example, is one of the stranger exchanges in a radio interview he did with Fred Dicker.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The two bantered about the difference between New York and Tennessee, <strong>with Dicker poking fun at Ford for pronouncing &#8220;smear&#8221; (as in: &#8220;I&#8217;ve been the victim of a smear campaign on my position on choice&#8221;) as &#8220;schmear&#8221;<\/strong>, prompting this exchange:<\/p>\n<p>Dicker: &#8220;I think schmear is something you put on a bagel.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ford: &#8220;I&#8217;m a little country. I apologize&#8230;It&#8217;s &#8220;smear&#8221;, s-m-e-a-r. Y&#8217;all talk funny.&#8221;<span id=\"more-74673\"><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div id=\"TixyyLink\" style=\"border: medium none ; overflow: hidden; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; text-align: left; text-decoration: none;\">Winning over New Yorkers by 1) bungling an ethnic pander then 2) joking that they talk funny and that their food is weird!
