And then everyone gets excited because Apple &#8220;crushed&#8221; their models and destroyed its own guidance. (Guidance that, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/apples-guidance-comically-conservative-2009-4\">as one analyst puts it<\/a>, is &#8220;comically&#8221; conservative.)<\/p>\n<p>So what&#8217;s our REAL estimate? That Apple will beat its guidance as it has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/chart-of-the-day-apples-guidance-game-and-the-real-earnings-expectations-2010-1\">so reliably in the past<\/a>: About 7% on revenue and about 40% on earnings. (Specifically, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/chart-of-the-day-apples-guidance-game-and-the-real-earnings-expectations-2010-1\">since Sept. 2006<\/a>, Apple has beat its sales guidance an average 7% per quarter, and earnings an average 39%.)<\/p>\n<p>What does that give us for last quarter?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$12.25 billion in sales<\/strong> (7% more than Apple&#8217;s $11.45 billion guidance midpoint)<\/li>\n<li><strong>$2.42 earnings per share<\/strong> (39% more than Apple&#8217;s $1.74 guidance midpoint)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Will Apple&#8217;s earnings machine continue <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/chart-of-the-day-apples-guidance-game-and-the-real-earnings-expectations-2010-1\">as it has for years<\/a>?
