When you prepare your return, why can\u2019t you first download whatever data the\u00a0<a title=\"More articles about the Internal Revenue Service.\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/organizations\/i\/internal_revenue_service\/index.html?inline=nyt-org\">Internal Revenue Service<\/a> has received about you and, if your return is simple, learn what the I.R.S.\u2019s calculation of your taxes would be? You\u2019d have the chance to check whether the information was accurate, correct it as needed and add any pertinent details \u2014 that you\u2019re newly married, for example, or have a new child \u2014 before sending it.
