I ate nothing out of the ordinary, and if it did, I am usually quite good at controlling it. I had 3 eggs scrambled, a half pint of grapefruit, 3 pieces of whole grain toast with a pad of butter, and 2 shots of espresso for breakfast around 5:45, after waking at 5 with a BG level of 74, a number which is typical for me in the morning. I had a late lunch today (busy morning) and tested around 1:15 at which time my BG was 44! I had a normal lunch, a chicken salad (olive oil instead of mayo) and a spring greens salad, an orange, and a San Pellegrino mineral water, and bolused just enough, taking into account the amount needed to bring myself out of hypoglycemia and to ensure a good 110-120 BG before my 2 hour workout after work. I had my normal handful of almonds (unbolused) around 4:00, and went to the gym from work, starting my routine around 5:15, my BG being 121 beforehand. I got home around 7:30, and tested, and was 62, which is on the lower end of where I like to be pre-dinner. I made dinner, a sole filet, brussels sprouts, seasoned potatoes, and a bit of mango sorbet for dessert with some iced green tea. I tested at 10, and I was 48! I had some orange juice, just enough to cover the low, and changed for bed. I was having trouble sleeping, so I tested, and was 61! Had a few Triscuits, and now I have insomnia.
\nI’m not sure why today was such a whirlwind, but tomorrow I’m lowering my basal by 10% and changing my bolus ratio from 1 unit for every 10 carbs to 1 unit for ever 12. Stinks for tomorrow – I have to eat less to counter the extra stuff I ate today to fix these darn hypos!<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Today was really odd as far as my BG levels are concerned.
