And the Microsoft (MSFT) founder did much, much better than his first visit to the show in January 2007 — a strained conversation capped off by Gates’ abrupt\/awkward departure from the set.<\/p>\n

That makes plenty of sense: Last time, Gates was promoting Windows Vista, and that’s a task that would make anyone nervous.<\/p>\n

This time out, Gates was talking about his foundation work, along with some esoterica like his recent foray into Twitter<\/a>. He also handles Stewart’s obligatory iPhone barb fairly well.<\/p>\n
