That compares to about 113,000 attendees and 4,000 press the year before. That’s an indicator of a solid recovery in the technology industry. It also shows that CES remains the biggest global platform for launching new products in the technology ecosystem. Official audited numbers will be available later this year.<\/p>\n

Gary Shapiro, chief executive of the Consumer Electronics Association<\/a>, which hosts the show every year, said that more companies are signing up for next year’s show every day. We can attest that there was plenty of news to write about, as VentureBeat published scores of stories during the show. About 2,500 companies displayed more than 20,000 new products at the show. Tablets, eBook readers, and 3-D TV stole the show.<\/p>\n
