Arnold Schwarzenegger suggested the idea Monday, according to The Times&#8217; Shane Goldmacher, writing at the <a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/california-politics\/2010\/01\/schwarzenegger-send-prisoners-to-mexico.html\">California Politics blog.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can do so much better in the prison system alone if we can<br \/>\ngo and take inmates, for instance the 20,000 inmates that are illegal<br \/>\nimmigrants that are here, and get them to Mexico,\u201d Schwarzenegger said<br \/>\nduring a question-and-answer session at the Sacramento Press Club.<br \/>\n\u201cThink about it.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/%E2%80%9CWe%20can%20do%20so%20much%20better%20in%20the%20prison%20system%20alone%20if%20we%20can%20go%20and%20take%20inmates,%20for%20instance%20the%2020,000%20inmates%20that%20are%20illegal%20immigrants%20that%20are%20here,%20and%20get%20them%20to%20Mexico,%E2%80%9D%20Schwarzenegger%20said%20during%20a%20question-and%20answer%20session%20at%20the%20Sacramento%20Press%20Club.%20%E2%80%9CThink%20about%20it.%E2%80%9D\">According to Goldmacher, <\/a>the Republican governor has pushed to house California inmates out of state before &#8212; but never in a different country. It\u2019s cheaper to build prisons in Mexico, Schwarzenegger reasoned, and it\u2019s cheaper to staff prisons there too. <\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you like the idea?
