State senator Tim Grendell is raising a stink that the state is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2010\/US\/01\/25\/kaye.signs\/index.html?hpt=C1\">spending $1 million of stimulus money<\/a> simply advertising the fact that it&#8217;s spending funds on road projects, CNN reports:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Some road projects have two signs, and some don&#8217;t have any at all, but the signs aren&#8217;t cheap.<\/p>\n<p>The bigger signs can cost as much as $3,000 each, according to Grendell, who says this is just a big &#8220;thank you&#8221; to the Obama Administration.<\/p>\n<p>He told CNN, &#8220;Send a fruit basket if you want to say &#8216;thank you.&#8217; Don&#8217;t waste a million dollars saying &#8216;thank&#8217; you to Washington for giving us back our tax money.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Ohio sign industry must appreciate the gesture.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2010\/US\/01\/25\/kaye.signs\/index.html?hpt=C1\">Signs of waste? $1 million used to tout stimulus funds at work in Ohio<\/a> [CNN] <br \/>\n<i>(Thanks, Colette!)<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At least Ohio isn&#8217;t sitting on its stimulus funds.
