In efforts to boost annual output, Tesla is planning a volume-selling BMW 3-Series sized electric sedan by 2015 that will lift total annual production to around 200,000 units a year.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla&#8217;s 3-Series sized sedan will be the model that will optimize the automotive technology his engineers have been developing for all future Teslas and will lower the cost of owning a Tesla to around $30,000.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla also has plans for a crossover and a coupe based on the Model S sedan.
