{"id":236691,"date":"2010-01-27T11:14:52","date_gmt":"2010-01-27T16:14:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/freakbits.com\/?p=1473"},"modified":"2010-01-27T11:14:52","modified_gmt":"2010-01-27T16:14:52","slug":"afact-vs-iinet-ruling-could-come-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/236691","title":{"rendered":"AFACT vs iiNet Ruling Could Come Next Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Next week the Federal Court will likely deliver its ruling on the epic copyright case which concluded in November 2009 between AFACT, representing the movie industry, and Australian ISP iiNet.<span id=\"more-1473\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/freakbits.com\/media\/afact2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/freakbits.com\/media\/afact2.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"afact2\" width=\"200\" height=\"120\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1477\" \/><\/a>Last year several movie studios including Village Roadshow, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, Disney Enterprises, Inc. and the Seven Network (all under the umbrella of AFACT) took legal action against Aussie ISP, iiNet.<\/p>\n<p>They claimed that iiNet did nothing to stop its customers from sharing their copyright media via BitTorrent. The ISP refuted the claim with a multi-layered defense, and the case was adjourned in November 2009.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s believed that Justice Dennis Cowdroy will deliver his judgment next week.
