The arrest was the result of a collaborative<br \/>\ninvestigation by the LAPD, Kern County Sheriff Office (KCSO) and Los<br \/>\nAngeles Sheriff Department\u2019s (LASD) Santa Clarita Valley Station. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nOn January 24, 2010, at around 2 a.m., a Topanga Division gang unit<br \/>\ntook 57-year-old James Brammer into custody without incident near<br \/>\nQuakertown Avenue and Vanowen Street in Winnetka.\u00a0 He was booked for<br \/>\nrobbery and is being held in lieu of a $250,000 bail. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nOn January 23, 2010, the suspect hit a Baskin-Robbins located at 19942<br \/>\n\u00bd Ventura Boulevard around 9:40 p.m.\u00a0 Detectives said a man wearing a<br \/>\nfake mustache entered the business carrying a handgun, demanded money<br \/>\nand left the store. <\/p>\n<p>\nAfter LAPD detectives learned KCSO and LASD had similar robberies, they<br \/>\ngained solid leads and were able to get a description of the suspect.\u00a0<br \/>\nThe suspect was arrested after electronic surveillance helped track his<br \/>\nwhereabouts. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nInvestigators conducted a search at Brammer\u2019s home in Reseda and<br \/>\ncollected evidence he used in the robberies. Detectives have connected<br \/>\nhim to 14 robberies thus far.
