<\/span><\/p>\n As a lead-in for the hit medical drama Grey’s Anatomy<\/em>, Betty<\/em> was a Thursday night ratings leader in its inaugural season. But the show began to falter with audiences during Season 2 and was hit hard by a move to Fridays last fall. Ugly Betty<\/em> now occupies the timeslot once reserved for the defunct Eastwick<\/em>. The series will continue to air Wednesdays at 10 ET\/PT until its departure in May.<\/p>\n “We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty’s final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion,”<\/em> says ABC chief Steve McPherson in a statement. “We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.”<\/em><\/p>\n Ugly Betty<\/em> will tape its series finale in April.<\/p>\n So long, Betty!
