It&#8217;s was remarkable low-key, without the paparazzi swarming around her La Habra home or raging tabloid headlines.<\/p>\n<p>But Suleman did grant some interviews. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.people.com\/people\/article\/0,,20339522,00.html\">In a talk with People magazine<\/a>, she said she threw a party for her children Sunday and planned another one Tuesday. She said she&#8217;s not getting much sleep and said her one luxury is time in the gym.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I&#8217;ve<br \/>\ndefinitely matured a lot,&quot; she told People. &quot;When this started, it was all<br \/>\nabout me. But now I find myself in a situation where I have to support<br \/>\na large family and take care of a large household. I&#8217;ve been through<br \/>\nmore in the past year than most people go through in a lifetime. I&#8217;ve<br \/>\nbeen sued, harassed, abused, but I&#8217;ve held my own. I think about others<br \/>\nnow and not so much about myself. I spend more time thinking about<br \/>\npaying bills, paying my mortgage and paying attention.&quot;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Suleman has been filming a reality TV show centering on her life in La Habra<br \/>\nwith her brood. This month, a California appeals court rejected<br \/>\nan attempt by a former child actor to seek an independent guardian to<br \/>\nlook after her children&#8217;s financial affairs. The court called the<br \/>\nproposal an &quot;unprecedented, meritless effort by a stranger.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Suleman said she&#8217;s<a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/lanow\/2010\/01\/octuplet-mother-suleman-says-shes-lost-150-pounds.html\"> lost 150 pounds<\/a> since her pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Shelby Grad<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nadya Suleman&#8217;s octuplets celebrated their first birthday this week.
