Curbed is reporting (via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypost.com\/p\/news\/local\/cnn_star_to_live_in_old_village_YXdCI5MvQaXtIBdwZAwhRI\">NY Post<\/a>) that the <a href=\"http:\/\/curbed.com\/archives\/2010\/01\/27\/anderson_cooper_snaps_up_greenwich_village_fire_sale.php\">silver fox is the secret buyer<\/a> of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zillow.com\/homedetails\/birds-eye-view-map\/31498131_zpid\/#street-view\">historic Greenwich Village firehouse<\/a>. What fun!<\/p>\n<p>Located at 64 West 3rd Street in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zillow.com\/homes\/for_sale\/Greenwich-Village-Manhattan-New-York-NY\/\">Greenwich Village<\/a>, Cooper reportedly purchased the Beaux Arts-style building for $4.3 million last September from the New York Board of Fire Underwriters. Even though it has not served as an active firehouse since 2006, it still has its original spiral staircases, brass fire poles, and the walls are covered with murals saluting the fire patrol&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p>No word on what Cooper plans to do with the 8,240 square feet of space (there&#8217;s also a two-story former stable in the back), but workers are already doing some demolition.
