{"id":245637,"date":"2010-01-29T07:24:45","date_gmt":"2010-01-29T12:24:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aconnecticutlawblog.com\/?p=1484"},"modified":"2010-01-29T07:24:45","modified_gmt":"2010-01-29T12:24:45","slug":"connecticut-to-get-a-mlb-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/245637","title":{"rendered":"Connecticut To Get A MLB Team?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Ryan McKeen<\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t written about baseball on this site in a long time but this topic is too good to pass up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">There are smart people in the Major League Baseball offices wondering if there&#8217;s hope of even discussing a potential move of the Rays to New Jersey or Southern Connecticut over certain protests from the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox and Phillies. \u00a0&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/news\/article.jsp?ymd=20100122&amp;content_id=7954722&amp;vkey=perspectives&amp;fext=.jsp&amp;c_id=mlb\">Peter Gammons, MLB.com 1\/22\/201o<\/a><\/p>\n<p>With all the recent talk of a Springfield-New Haven rail line, how cool would it be to hop on a train in Hartford after work, head down to New Haven, grab some pizza, and watch the Red Sox? A man can dream.<\/p>\n<p>To quote Rogers Hornsby &#8220;People ask me what I do all winter when there&#8217;s no baseball. I&#8217;ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Whether or not a team ever comes to Connecticut, who knows? It&#8217;s probably not going to happen and I blame the Yankees for that.
