Pat Quinn continues his campaign theme of construction and jobs just a few days before Tuesday&#8217;s primary by appearing with Mayor Richard Daley and Democratic U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin of Springfield at Union Station this morning. They&#8217;ll talk about Illinois&#8217; high-speed rail funding. While the trio of politicians are likely to sing Washington&#8217;s praises, Illinois is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/news\/local\/ct-met-high-speed-rail-20100127,0,4263332.story\">getting less money<\/a> than some anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>*Quinn&#8217;s Democratic governor rival, Comptroller Dan Hynes is set to announce endorsements from African-American leaders this morning. The campaign event comes after\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/newsblogs.chicagotribune.com\/clout_st\/2010\/01\/quinn-hynes-battle-over-harold-washington-ad-in-last-facetoface-meeting.html\">Thursday&#8217;s encounter<\/a> between Quinn and Hynes on a radio station that&#8217;s popular in the African-American community.<\/p>\n<p>*On the Republican side of the governor&#8217;s contest, Adam Andrzejewski is scheduled to formally get the endorsement of Poland President Lech Walesa at a fundraiser.<\/p>\n<p>*Chicago Board of Elections officials will hold a morning event to brief the media on the finer points of Tuesday&#8217;s primary.
