{"id":246703,"date":"2010-01-29T12:19:08","date_gmt":"2010-01-29T17:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/greenenergyreporter.com\/?p=5931"},"modified":"2010-01-29T12:19:08","modified_gmt":"2010-01-29T17:19:08","slug":"germany-eyes-one-month-delay-to-feed-in-tariff-cut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/246703","title":{"rendered":"Germany Eyes One Month Delay to Feed-In Tariff Cut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenenergyreporter.com\/wp-content\/themes\/v1\/img\/cat\/funding.png\" width=\"8\" height=\"8\" alt=\"\" title=\"Funding\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenenergyreporter.com\/wp-content\/themes\/v1\/img\/cat\/solar.png\" width=\"8\" height=\"8\" alt=\"\" title=\"Solar\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 130px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  \" src=\"http:\/\/www.bundesregierung.de\/Content\/EN\/Biographien\/Bilder\/norbert-roettgen__en,property=default.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"184\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">German Environment Minister Norbert Roettgen<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The German Environment Ministry is <a href=\"http:\/\/greenenergyreporter.com\/2010\/01\/this-week-in-green-energy-sen-elect-brown-and-the-future-of-climate-change-legislation\/#more-5771\" >considering delaying<\/a> the proposed 15 percent cut in its feed-in tariff, which utilities are obligated to pay solar power producers, by one month.\u00a0 Under the new proposal the cuts would come into effect on May 1 rather than April 1.<\/p>\n<p>Also, citing sources close to Environment Minister Norbert Roettgen,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/idUSBAT00508020100129\" >Reuters reports<\/a> that additional subsidy cuts, slated to come into effect in 2011, could actually be steeper than originally planed.<span id=\"more-5931\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Roettgen is considering\u00a0a 3.5 percent cut in subsidies next year &#8212; instead of the planned 2.5 percent &#8212; If there are more than 3,500 megawatts of solar power capacity installed over a 12-month period, according to Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>Barclays Capital Vishal Shah says the one-month delay could add between 400 megawatts and 500 megawatts of new installations.<\/p>\n<p>In a note emailed this morning Shah also predicts that demand for\u00a0solar panels in Germany could actually increase this year in anticipation of the steeper cuts in the country&#8217;s feed-in tariff slated for 2011.
