{"id":247644,"date":"2010-01-29T16:02:36","date_gmt":"2010-01-29T21:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/?p=90984"},"modified":"2010-01-29T16:02:36","modified_gmt":"2010-01-29T21:02:36","slug":"etta-james-alzheimer%e2%80%99s-disease","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/247644","title":{"rendered":"Etta James Alzheimer\u2019s Disease"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The son of soul songstress Etta James claims the 72-year-old R&#038;B legend has been diagnosed with Alzheimer&#8217;s Disease and is hospitalized in Southern California with an<br \/>\n infection, <a href=\"http:\/\/\">CNN<\/a> said Friday.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Etta-James-Hospitalized.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Etta James Hospitalized\" width=\"445\" height=\"600\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-90985\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-90984\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Donto James says his famous mother has been at Riverside Community Hospital for about a week and is recovering from sepsis caused by a urinary tract infection.<\/p>\n<p>Etta, who previously battled an addiction to heroin, entered a treatment program last month for a dependency on painkillers and over-the-counter medicine. She was transferred to another facility and then the hospital when her physical condition worsened.<\/p>\n<p>Her dementia caused Etta to make controversial comments about singer Beyonce &#8212; who played the singer in the 2008 film <em>Cadillac Records<\/em> &#8212; during  a concert last year.
