The woman fell to the ground, but before the suspect could take the purse, witnesses chased him and held him until police arrived.<\/p>\n<p>A store video camera captured the incident. Police said they need the testimony of the woman, who left before officers arrived. The attack occurred in the 4800 block of Melrose.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>According to the LAPD statement, &quot;the victim left the location before the police arrived to interview<br \/>\nher.\u00a0 Detectives believe she suffered burn injuries to her neck. The<br \/>\nvictim is described as Hispanic with long hair. She stands between 5<br \/>\nfeet 1 inch and 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs between 130 and 150<br \/>\npounds. She\u2019s between 17 and 25 years of age and was last seen wearing<br \/>\na white zippered jacket or sweater and blue jeans.
