Police said the pair had been arguing inside the house when Jefferson stabbed his father once in the neck with an unknown object. <\/p>\n
The Elgin Fire Department took the father to Sherman Hospital, while police arrested Jefferson at the house. <\/p>\n
The father remained at Sherman Saturday.<\/p>\n
Jefferson was charged with attempted murder on Friday, Elgin Deputy Chief Jeffrey Swoboda said. <\/p>\n
If found guilty, he could spend up to 30 years in prison.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
