He died at home.<br \/><\/br><br \/><\/br>&quot;While my dad has not been in the greatest of health, it&#8217;s still always a shock to lose your father,&quot; state Sen. Kirk Dillard said.<\/p>\n<p><\/br>Dillard&#8217;s spokeswoman put out a statement tonight saying Dillard was suspending his weekend downstate swing so he could be home in Hinsdale with his mother and other family members. <br \/><\/br><br \/><\/br>Before he left the Springfield event, Dillard said &quot;you never expect your father to ever pass away.
