The rugged and reliable Pulseo 355-10 provides 10 W of 355 nm output at 90 kHz with a short pulse width of <23 ns.
Key applications for the Pulseo 355-10 are crystalline silicon photovoltaic solar cell manufacturing processes such as wafer scribing and dicing, drilling, and marking. The high power industrial laser is also ideal for microelectronics applications, such as via hole drilling, flex circuit cutting, flat panel manufacturing, ITO patterning, LED substrate scribing, silicon wafer dicing/scribing and low K dielectric scribing.
The Pulseo 355-10 has a short pulse width (<23 ns at 90 kHz) and high peak power. These characteristics, combined with higher repetition rates, reduce undesired thermal effects and results in higher throughput with less damage to the parts.
According to Tim Edwards, Senior Marketing Manager for Newport's Spectra-Physics Laser Division, “The design of the Pulseo 355-10 features the same strengths as our other Pulseo family of products, including long life, excellent beam quality and stability, compact design, and field-replaceable key components such as diodes, fiber, and output window.

This field serviceability, combined with strong reliability and global service and support, makes the Pulseo 355-10 the perfect choice for high-uptime industrial applications.” Edwards continues, “In addition to excellent performance, the Pulseo 355-10 is also an exceptional value, measured both in cost per watt, and cost of operation over the life of the laser.”

The new Pulseo 355-10 will be introduced at SPIE Photonics West at The Moscone Center, San Francisco, CA, January 26-28, 2010. Please stop by Newport's booth #1401 for a demonstration.

About Newport Corporation
Newport Corporation is a leading global supplier of advanced-technology products and systems to customers in the scientific research, microelectronics manufacturing, aerospace and defense/security, life and health sciences and precision industrial manufacturing markets.

Newport's innovative solutions leverage its expertise in high-power semiconductor, solid-state and ultrafast lasers, photonics instrumentation, sub-micron positioning systems, vibration isolation, optical subsystems and precision automation to enhance the capabilities and productivity of its customers' manufacturing, engineering and research applications.

Newport is part of the Standard & Poor's SmallCap 600 Index and the Russell Microcap Index.

Rugged New Q-Switched DPSS Laser Delivers >10 W at 355 nm – January 20, 2010 – Spectra-Physics®, a Newport Corporation Brand, announces a new addition to its Pulseo® family of Q-Switched diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) industrial lasers.
