In his four starts since the trade, the rookie<br \/>\nhas averaged 17.8 points, 2.3 threes (50%), 92-percent foul shooting,<br \/>\n4.3 boards, and 1.1 steals-plus-blocks in 39 minutes. Thornton&#8217;s<br \/>\noverall line may not be massive, but you can pencil him in among the<br \/>\nleague&#8217;s leaders in threes made from here on out. <em>Week 15: PHO, OKC, PHI, @CHA<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull; <\/strong><span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4475\/\">Brandon Rush<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4475\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4475\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; So maybe Rush just needed a few months before he was ready to live up to preseason expectations. He&#8217;s back in the Pacers&#8217; starting lineup, monopolizing the team&#8217;s minutes at shooting guard, hitting lots of threes, and putting up very useful fantasy numbers overall. Over the past five games, he&#8217;s averaged 14.8 points, 2.8 threes (48%), 5.4 boards, 0.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks in 36 minutes. Rush appears poised to be a real second-half difference maker, just as he was <a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4475\/splits?year=2008&amp;type=Fielding\">last season<\/a>. <em>Week 15: TOR, DET, @MIL<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4488\/\">George Hill<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4488\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4488\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; Hill has been in the starting lineup for the Spurs for each of the past six games, averaging 15.5 points on 49-percent shooting, 1.3 threes, 2.7 assists, 1.2 turnovers, and 1 steal in 33 minutes. He&#8217;s currently running the point in place of the injured <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3527\/\">Tony Parker<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3527\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3527\">(notes)<\/a>,<\/span> but his role as a starter in general seems very secure, and Parker&#8217;s issues with plantar fasciitis only serve to reinforce Hill&#8217;s long-term fantasy potential. <em>Week 15: @SAC, @POR, @LAC<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"remaining-content\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4507\/\">Goran Dragic<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4507\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4507\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; Dragic inherited <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3731\/\">Leandro Barbosa&#8217;s<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3731\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3731\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> role of instant offense off the bench when Barbosa went under the knife, and it&#8217;s a role he&#8217;s taken to very well. Over the past four games, Dragic has averaged 19.3 points on 63-percent shooting, 3 treys, 84-percent foul shooting, 2.5 assists, 1.8 turnovers, and 1 steal in 24 minutes. As with Barbosa, some matchups will lend themselves more towards his skills than others, but overall the numbers should continue to look good. <em>Week 15: @NOR, @DEN, @SAC<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4371\/\">Anthony Tolliver<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4371\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4371\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; Tolliver has averaged 14.7 points on<br \/>\n58-percent shooting, 1 three, and 9 boards in his three starts and is<br \/>\nthe only Warrior to have posted back-to-back double-doubles on the<br \/>\nseason. His willingness to defend and rebound should give him the edge<br \/>\nover <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3522\/\">Vladimir Radmanovic<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3522\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3522\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> for playing time, and there&#8217;s upside any time<br \/>\nyou are talking about a reasonably athletic big with three-point<br \/>\nabilities in the Warriors&#8217; system. There are certainly worse ways to<br \/>\nspeculate with a roster spot. <em>Week 15: @HOU, @DAL, OK<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3831\/\">Kris Humphries<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3831\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3831\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; Humphries has established himself as a key<br \/>\nreserve for the Nets, averaging 26 minutes over the past seven games.<br \/>\nDuring that time he&#8217;s posted numbers that include 13.9 points on<br \/>\n51-percent shooting, 6.1 boards, and 1.3 steals-plus-blocks. How much<br \/>\nupside you see here should be directly tied to how likely you think it<br \/>\nis that <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4284\/\">Yi Jianlian<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4284\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4284\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> will remain both healthy and productive in the<br \/>\nseason&#8217;s second half. <em>Week 15: DET, @TOR, @BOS, @DET<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4305\/\">Arron Afflalo<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4305\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4305\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; Afflalo has endeared himself to George Karl and his teammates with a very productive January. In 14 games, he&#8217;s averaged 11.9 points on 52-percent shooting, 2.2 threes, 3 boards, and 1.2 steals-plus-blocks in 29 minutes. While there&#8217;s not significant upside here alongside the team&#8217;s usage hogs, there&#8217;s also not significant downside because he&#8217;s locked in as the starting shooting guard. <em>Week 15: SAC, PHO, @LAL, @UTH<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4164\/\">Craig Smith<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4164\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4164\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; While Smith&#8217;s playing time has been a bit erratic in recent weeks, his averages over the past nine games (13.8 points, 60% FG, 5.3 boards) should have deep-leaguers taking notice. If <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3709\/\">Chris Kaman&#8217;s<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3709\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3709\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> current ankle injury could be a sign of more issues to come, and Smith is among the major benefactors when Kaman misses time. <em>Week 15: @CHI, @ATL, SAS<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull; <\/strong><span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3409\/\">Keyon Dooling<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3409\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3409\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; Dooling has averaged 9.5 points, 1.5 threes, 5 assists, 1.8 turnovers, and 1 steal in his four starts on the season, and the Nets are not going to bring <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3822\/\">Devin Harris<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3822\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3822\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> back before he&#8217;s absolutely ready. He&#8217;s a solid short-term add for the Nets&#8217; upcoming four-game week. <em>Week 15: DET, @TOR, @BOS, @DET<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Status Updates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong><em> <\/em><span class=\"ysp-player\" class=\"ysp-player\"><span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3706\/\">Carmelo Anthony<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3706\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3706\">(notes)<\/a><\/span><\/span> &#8211; Anthony has missed the past three games with a sprained left ankle, but he&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/nuggets\/ci_14303421\">optimistic that he&#8217;ll return Sunday<\/a> against the Spurs. He practiced Saturday but will see how he feels after Sunday&#8217;s pregame workout before a final decision is made.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong><em> <\/em>Leandro Barbosa &#8211; Barbosa is expected to miss <a href=\"http:\/\/www.azcentral.com\/sports\/suns\/articles\/2010\/01\/30\/20100130spt-suns-reserves-production.html\">three to five more weeks<\/a> due to surgery to remove a cyst from his right wrist.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"8\" src=\"http:\/\/a323.yahoofs.com\/ymg\/ept_sports_fantasy_experts__24\/ept_sports_fantasy_experts-877119730-1264970716.jpg?ymd_3mCD9594xmee\" \/><strong>&bull;<\/strong><em> <\/em><span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4388\/\">Michael Beasley<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4388\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4388\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; Beasley has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/sports\/fl-heat-bucks-gamer-013010,0,5442954.story\">missed the past two games<\/a> because of a hyperextended right knee. He&#8217;s hopeful that he&#8217;ll be able to return Monday, but he&#8217;s yet to try serious jumping and cutting and questionable at this point. <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong><em> <\/em><span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3632\/\">Carlos Boozer<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3632\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3632\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; Boozer is currently out with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deseretnews.com\/article\/700005857\/No-prediction-on-Boozer-return.html\">right calf strain<\/a>. He played with tendinitis in the wrist for a month that was then complicated when he fell on it on January 22, and the team has no interest in putting him back on the court before he&#8217;s closer to 100 percent.
