{"id":259953,"date":"2010-02-01T11:14:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-01T16:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"e2249889-c78b-43e3-9643-b1d7d4aa587b:389635"},"modified":"2010-02-01T11:14:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-01T16:14:00","slug":"canadian-tires-credit-card-write-offs-continue-to-drop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/259953","title":{"rendered":"Canadian Tire&#8217;s credit card write-offs continue to drop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.financialpost.com\/markets\/company\/index.html?symbol=CTC&amp;id=31983\" >Canadian Tire Corp.<\/a> credit card write-offs are falling and should return to normal next year, says Keith Howlett, Desjardins Securities analyst. <\/p>\n<p>For December, the well-known retailer said its net credit write-off rate fell to 7.67%, down from 8.1% in November and 8.28% in October.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Subject to the state of consumers&#39; finances after the holiday-spending period, write-offs appear to have peaked in 3Q09,&quot; said Mr. Howlett. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;It appears not unlikely that Canadian Tire may return to its target write-off rate (securitized and on-balance sheet) of 5-6% sometime during 2011.&quot;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Howlett said expect all of Canadian Tire&#39;s divisions, except petroleum, to have had lower year-over-year EPS in the fourth quarter of 2009.
