Police captured a car-chase suspect in the parking structure of an upscale Glendale shopping and residential center, but stores remained on lockdown Monday afternoon as detectives gathered evidence.<\/p>\n
The suspect fled from the car after a police car chase and hid inside the Americana at Brand mall garage for about two hours as police searched for him. The man was one of three
\nsuspects who allegedly robbed\u00a0a liquor store in the 2000 block of
\nGlenoaks Avenue in Burbank shortly before 11 a.m. <\/p>\n
Burbank police picked up the pursuit a short time later and followed
\ntheir car into neighboring Glendale. The suspects’ car crashed near the
\nAmericana shopping and residential development, and two
\nsuspects were immediately apprehended at the scene.<\/p>\n
The suspect, who police said was armed with a handgun, eluded the
\ntackle of one officer and then slid across the hood of a patrol
\nvehicle to get away from another officer.\u00a0He then sprinted down the street,
\npulling away from pursuing officers. <\/p>\n
The suspect was found by Glendale police and turned over to police in Burbank, where the chase began.<\/p>\n
