Rip Torn is headed for rehab after he was released on $100,000 bail on Monday. Torn 78, is facing charges of burglary, criminal trespass, and weapons offenses after Connecticut State Police found him “highly intoxicated”<\/em> and armed with a loaded gun in a small bank near his Salisbury home last Friday night. <\/p>\n

Torn’s lawyer, A. Thomas Waterfall, said the actor — who has history of alcohol-related arrests — was disoriented and believed he was at home at the time of his arrest. <\/p>\n

“He will enter rehab on Tuesday,”<\/em> Waterfall said. <\/p>\n

Torn’s most recent role has been as a network TV boss on the NBC comedy 30 Rock<\/em>. He is expected to plead not guilty at his next court hearing on Feb 17.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
