Increases Total Viewing and Demo Advantages Over CBS vs. the Previous Year<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

For the week of January 25th, \u201cABC World News with Diane Sawyer\u201d averaged 8.51 million Total Viewers and a 2.0\/7 among Adults 25-54 according to Nielsen Media Research. Week-to-week \u201cWorld News\u201d grew its demo audience by 4%.  <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Please note: \u201cWorld News\u201d is based on a four-day average (Mon-Tues & Thurs-Fri); ratings on Wednesday were excluded due to the President\u2019s State of the Union Address. \u201cNBC Nightly News\u201d and \u201cCBS Evening News\u201d are based on a five-day average. Diane Sawyer anchored \u201cWorld News\u201d Monday-Thursday; Dan Harris anchored on Friday. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Week-to-week, \u201cWorld News\u201d closed the gap with \u201cNightly News\u201d in Total Viewers by 11% (1,570,000) and among Adults 25-54 by 29% (560,000). In addition, \u201cWorld News\u201d cut into Nightly\u2019s Adult 25-54 advantage by 14% year-to-year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Compared to the previous year, World News increased its Total Viewing advantage over \u201cEvening News\u201d by 11% (1,750,000) and its demo advantage by 6% (380,000). <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For the week, \u201cWorld News\u201d was up 4% (290,000) among Total Viewers and up 9% (200,000) among Adults 25-54 compared to its season-to-date average.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Last week\u2019s \u201cWorld News\u201d featured comprehensive coverage of the State of the Union including Diane Sawyer\u2019s exclusive interview with President Barack Obama at the White House and an interview with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. \u201cWorld News\u201d also continued its coverage of the Toyota recall with reporting by ABC Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
