Detectives are investigating a homicide in an upscale Orange neighborhood, where a
\n48-year-old woman — the wife of a former law enforcement official — was stabbed to death after returning home from a party.<\/p>\n

Neighbors said they were stunned by the slaying, saying the neighborhood is usually safe and has little crime.<\/p>\n

Cheryl Rose Wynn was in her home on the
\n1200 block of North Palo Loma Place at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday when she was found by her
\nhusband, who called 911, according to the Orange Police Department.

<\/br>Wynn died at the scene, police said.
<\/br><\/p>\n

Police said they had not determined a motive and have no motive. KABC-TV reported<\/a> that Wynn’s husband — described by neighbors as a retired Orange County law enforcement official — found her and called authorities. <\/p>\n

Detectives have not determine whether the crime was linked a robbery or whether she was somehow targeted.<\/p>\n
