Today, we returned to the scene of November 2008\u2019s hysteria on the snowy day of the Illinois primaries to take Hyde Park\u2019s pulse. Generally, primary voters tend to be among the most enthusiastic of all political observers, and the crowd today was no different. They seemed equally informed and dedicated, as the weather was snowy and very cold, but of the handful of people we spoke to, nobody seemed particularly excited about voting today-especially when compared to the way they felt the day President Obama cast his vote. Since they know the lay of the land around Shoesmith Elementary better than anyone, I asked voters to compare election days.
