This is not the first incidence of a youth&#8217;s suicide being linked to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apa.org\/topics\/bullying\/index.aspx\">bullying<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Thrive previously covered Massachusetts lawmakers attempts to pass <a href=\"http:\/\/childrenshospitalblog.org\/bullying\/\">anti-bullying legislation<\/a>. Within the last couple of weeks, due to the recent event, this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/local\/massachusetts\/articles\/2010\/01\/26\/beacon_hill_lawmakers_see_urgent_need_for_antibullying_bill\/\">legislation has taken on new urgency<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve heard a lot from adults on this issue, but what about the teens? Youth adviser, Erica Cueves, from Children&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youngwomenshealth.org\/\">Center for Young Women&#8217;s Health<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/yapblog.typepad.com\/yapblog\/2010\/01\/ban-bullying.html\">wrote a piece on their blog<\/a> about the death of Phoebe Prince, how bullying affects all teens (even those not directly bullied) and what should be done to stop it.<\/p>\n<p>This is a serious issue that deserves our attention.
