Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple Computer and an owner of many Toyota Prius hybrid models said at a conference in San Francisco that Toyota’s unintended acceleration issues are related to a software glitch and not a bad accelerator pedal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have many models of Prius that got recalled, but I have a new model that didn\u2019t get recalled,\u201d Wozniak said. \u201cThe new model has an accelerator that goes wild but only under certain conditions of cruise control. And I can repeat it over and over and over again safely.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wozniak said that he has been trying to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Toyota for three months but was unable to get anyone to test a software-related issue.<\/p>\n
Toyota spokesman John Hanson said that Toyota has found no evidence of an electronic or software problem.<\/p>\n
