According to unofficial totals, Jung had 2,270 votes, Hill had 2,195 and Frederick had 1,618.<\/p>\n
Jung said he felt better than he did after the 2008 race, when the presence of then-candidate Barack Obama’s name on the ballot contributed to the defeat of many Republican candidates who would have otherwise been safe.<\/p>\n
“It was a Republican primary,” Jung said. “It wasn’t a general election with Obama on the ballot.”<\/p>\n
Hill said she would like to work with Jung again. Both will compete against Democratic incumbent Jim Kennedy for a 2-year term in the November election.<\/p>\n
“Jim is OK, but I would prefer to have my colleague back on the same side of the issues,” Hill said.<\/p>\n
Both Hill and Jung pledged to focus on groundwater conservation, open space preservation and the 2030 land use plan if they are elected.<\/p>\n
