{"id":268320,"date":"2010-02-03T00:16:21","date_gmt":"2010-02-03T05:16:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chicagopressrelease.com\/?p=15570"},"modified":"2010-02-03T00:16:21","modified_gmt":"2010-02-03T05:16:21","slug":"former-mchenry-board-member-john-jung-gets-gop-nod","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/268320","title":{"rendered":"Former McHenry board member John Jung gets GOP nod"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former McHenry County Board Vice President John Jung will get a shot at reclaiming the District 5 seat he lost in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Jung, along with incumbent Tina Hill, earned a spot on the November ballot by emerging from Tuesday&#8217;s Republican primary with a sizable lead over board critic David Frederick. <span id=\"more-15570\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to unofficial totals, Jung had 2,270 votes, Hill had 2,195 and Frederick had 1,618.<\/p>\n<p>Jung said he felt better than he did after the 2008 race, when the presence of then-candidate Barack Obama&#8217;s name on the ballot contributed to the defeat of many Republican candidates who would have otherwise been safe.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a Republican primary,&#8221; Jung said. &#8220;It wasn&#8217;t a general election with Obama on the ballot.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hill said she would like to work with Jung again.
