A two-year manhunt for a man who kidnapped and molested four girls in the Mid-City neighborhood of Los Angeles has ended in the arrest of a 41-year-old Hollywood man, police officials said Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Daniel Merino was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping for sexual assault after detectives scoured thousands of license plates recorded by the Los Angeles Police Department’s new license plate-reading vehicles. Through that search, they found a match to a car that possibly belonged to the suspect.<\/p>\n
Detectives from the robbery-homicide division staked out the block where the car was located in 600 block of North Kingsley Drive.
\n On Jan. 29, they spotted Merino getting into the car and driving into a parking garage.<\/p>\n
Eight hours later, detectives arrested him and found evidence that they said connected him to the four attacks. He is being held on $4-million bail.<\/p>\n
