Not that you&#8217;ll score a day off from work or anything, but carrots are <span>great for your health, garden, and body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-141098\" src=\"http:\/\/images3.blisstree.com\/files\/2010\/02\/national-carrot-day.jpg\" alt=\"national carrot day\" width=\"590\" height=\"328\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Carrots are packed full of antioxidant compounds, vitamin K and C and they&#8217;re the richest vegetable source of vitamin A. In fact a diet rich in carrots may even help you avoid heart problems. One <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whfoods.com\/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&amp;dbid=21\">study in particular<\/a> noted that elderly individuals who ate at least one serving of carrots and\/or squash each day had a 60% reduction in their risk of heart attacks compared to those who ate less than one serving of carotenoid-rich foods per day. That&#8217;s just the start though, carrots have tons of other <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elements4health.com\/carrots.html\">health benefits<\/a> too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In the garden, <a href=\"http:\/\/ohioline.osu.edu\/hyg-fact\/1000\/1606.html\">carrots are insanely easy to grow<\/a> and even make wonderful <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blisstree.com\/articles\/growing-an-indoor-vegetable-garden\/\">container veggies<\/a>. You can grow a lot in a small space and there&#8217;s a large amount of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blisstree.com\/motherearthsgarden\/where-can-you-find-purple-carrot-seeds-and-other-unusual-vegetables\/\">carrot varieties<\/a> to choose from. They&#8217;re so easy to grow in fact, that carrots are the perfect starter <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blisstree.com\/treehuggingfamily\/10-fun-organic-gardening-projects-for-kids\/\">garden vegetable for kids<\/a>. Carrots were the first veggie my son grew on his own (mostly on his own) and nothing is cuter than a little kid picking his first carrot.
