The U.S. Transportation Secretary, Ray LaHood, told the Detroit Free Press of his anger towards Toyota and called them \u201ca little safety deaf\u201d.  I\u2019m sure the fact that NHTSA officials were forced to fly to Japan to \u201cremind Toyota management about its legal obligations\u201d (LaHood\u2019s word) didn\u2019t help his blood pressure.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota officials are set to appear in Washington next week for a \u201cCongressional inquiry\u201d, political speak for a good, old-fashioned ass kicking.
