\nWe would like to give Ms. Tebow a
\none-person-in-a-quiet-room round of applause for having the opportunity
\nto make the choice that was right for her.\n<\/p>\n
\nRecently, CBS has found itself front and center in a debate over an
\nad about abortion to be run during the Super Bowl by the controversial
\norganization, Focus on the Family. The ad features Pam Tebow, mother
\nof\u00a0football player Tim Tebow, talking about her decision to continue her
\npregnancy even after doctors told her that her life was in danger if
\nshe went through with the pregnancy.\n<\/p>\n
\nMs. Tebow had an important decision to make that many women face
\nevery day. Provided with her options, she chose to keep the pregnancy.
\nIn coming forward and describing her experience, we would like to say:
\nthank you Ms. Tebow (and CBS) for reminding us how hard that choice must
\nhave been for you. We hope that you will not forget to highlight the
\npart of your story where you were asked, \u201cWhat do you think you should
\ndo?\u201d In the chaos of script writing, please don\u2019t skip over that line
\nabout the choice you were given.\n<\/p>\n
\nAnd in that message to women watching the Super Bowl, I hope many
\nwon\u2019t think that you are criticizing them should they make the hard
\nchoice to end their own pregnancy.\n<\/p>\n
\nAs the face of choice, we hope that you won\u2019t disregard the stories
\nof many other women while you are telling your own. Please don\u2019t mislead
\nthe millions watching the Super Bowl into thinking that we should
\nremove the right of choice, the one you so coveted in that doctor’s
\noffice.\n<\/p>\n
