The ugliest comes in the form of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/blogs\/glennthrush\/0210\/Coats_lobbied_for_Chavezconnected_oil_company.html\">his work on behalf of Harvest Natural Resources<\/a>. Why does that matter?<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In 2007, when Coats&#8217; firm was still lobbying, company officials inked a deal with the Chavez government that gave a controlling stake in its local operations to Venezuela&#8217;s state oil company.
