At that time it was reported that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.egmcartech.com\/2009\/04\/13\/jaguar-working-on-range-extended-electric-xj-for-2011\/\">Jaguar is planning a range-extended version of the new XJ sedan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>AutoCar, <\/em>an electric range-extended version of the Jaguar XJ has been created and should be on the way to markets sometime next year.<\/p>\n<p>Power for the electric range-extended XJ will come from a 145 kW (194-hp) electric-motor that is fueled by a lithium-ion battery pack. The batteries is mated to a 1.2L 3-cylinder engine designed by Lotus.
