{"id":278138,"date":"2010-02-04T18:57:52","date_gmt":"2010-02-04T23:57:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stoth.com\/2010\/02\/04\/apple-paying-back-bonuses-on-cost-of-defective-27-inch-imacs\/"},"modified":"2010-02-04T18:57:52","modified_gmt":"2010-02-04T23:57:52","slug":"apple-paying-back-bonuses-on-cost-of-defective-27-inch-imacs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/278138","title":{"rendered":"Apple paying back bonuses on cost of defective 27-inch iMacs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>Filed under: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tuaw.com\/category\/retail\/\" rel=\"tag\">Retail<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tuaw.com\/category\/imac\/\" rel=\"tag\">iMac<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tuaw.com\/category\/apple\/\" rel=\"tag\">Apple<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"8\" hspace=\"8\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stoth.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-o-matic\/cache\/bd044_imac27115.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/gizmodo.com\/5464288\/apple-paying-out-15-on-broken-27+inch-imacs\">Gizmodo is reporting<\/a> that Apple has begun refunding up to an extra 15% of the purchase price of the 27-inch iMac to those customers who bought defective units. <\/p>\n<p>The news broke yesterday with a UK-based Apple Authorized Service Provider\/Reseller claiming that Apple is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tuaw.com\/2010\/02\/01\/apple-acknowledges-continuing-27-imac-screen-issues\/\">out of 27&#8243; screens in Europe<\/a>, and they&#8217;re dealing with a waiting list of customers already. So they&#8217;re now offering up (to only certain customers so far, not an official policy) not only a full refund, but an extra 15% on top of the price, roughly $300 on the cost of a $2000 iMac.<\/p>\n<p>Gizmodo also points out that the refund doesn&#8217;t include sales tax or shipping costs, so some of the 15% covers that as well. You won&#8217;t be able to make money on this, but Apple is apparently offering up a small bonus to customers inconvenienced by the issues.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week Apple released <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tuaw.com\/2010\/02\/02\/apple-releases-another-27-inch-imac-firmware-update\/\">another firmware update<\/a> to address the flickering screen issues with the 27-inch iMacs but it seems that has not alleviated all the issues.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tuaw.com\">TUAW<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tuaw.com\/2010\/02\/04\/apple-paying-back-bonuses-on-cost-of-defective-27-inch-imacs\/\">Apple paying back bonuses on cost of defective 27-inch iMacs<\/a> originally appeared on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tuaw.com\">The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)<\/a> on Thu, 04 Feb 2010 18:00:00 EST.
