The last thing I recall was him playing the Teabagging &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/firedoglake.com\/2009\/02\/22\/senator-richard-shelby-undermines-our-president-in-wartime\/\">Show us your Birth Certificate Card<\/a>&#8216;.  Before that it was him <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationaljournal.com\/about\/njweekly\/stories\/2005\/1113nj_waas.htm\">leaking national security data<\/a> and managing to barely get away with it.<\/p>\n<p>But Shelby has now <a href=\"http:\/\/tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com\/2010\/02\/report-shelby-blocks-all-obama-nominations-in-the-senate-over-al-earmarks.php\">upped his jackass level to &#8220;11&#8243;<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class='wbq'>\n<p>Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) has put an extraordinary &#8220;blanket hold&#8221; on at least 70 nominations President Obama has sent to the Senate<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Well there&#8217;s a new way of making things even more ungovernable.  Now each of these nominations has to get 60 votes for cloture &#8212; and we all know how aggressive Harry Reid is on that and how often the GOP wants to help out.<\/p>\n<p>And why is Shelby doing this?
