\"\"Dan Neil<\/a>, an automotive journalist who won the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism<\/a> in 2004 for his weekly column Rumble Seat<\/em> in the Los Angeles Times<\/em>, is reportedly leaving his job in Los Angeles to serve as the automotive columnist for The<\/em> Wall Street Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Perhaps it bears mentioning that the LA Times<\/em> killed off its Auto section<\/a> back in the summer of 2008, though Neil’s columns continued to appear in the Business section.<\/p>\n

Mike Miller, Deputy Managing Editor for The<\/em> Wall Street Journal<\/em>, had this to say in an email message to WSJ’s Bureau Chiefs:<\/p>\n

Dan is the nation’s preeminent car columnist, whose deep knowledge, wit, writerly flair and insight have made him must-reading for everyone who cares about cars and many who don’t. He joins us from the Los Angeles Times, where his car reviews won the Pulitzer Prize for criticism in 2004. Before that he worked at the Raleigh News & Observer and Car and Driver magazine, among other publications. He will start writing for us in print and online this spring.<\/em><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
