It&#8217;s a big loss for the Bulls<br \/>\nand fantasy owners, but he clearly was starting to feel the affects.<br \/>\nWhile it&#8217;s wise to take advantage of the schedule and get Noah some<br \/>\nextended rest, having the next 11 days off provides no guarantees.<br \/>\nHere&#8217;s a quote <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/sports\/basketball\/bulls\/ct-spt-0205-bulls-joakim-noah-chicago--20100204,0,3318856.story\">from Vinny Del Negro<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&quot;If you shut him down for two or three weeks, that doesn&#8217;t guarantee<br \/>\nit&#8217;s going to go away. Over the past six games, he&#8217;s made eight of 19<br \/>\nattempts from long range (42%) and averaged 12.3 points, 1.3 threes, 4<br \/>\nboards, 0.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 26 minutes. Another reason to<br \/>\nconsider Miller as a roster add &#8211; the Bulls&#8217; first three games after<br \/>\nthe break involve a back-to-back with New York and a visit to Minnesota<br \/>\n[<a href=\"http:\/\/basketballmonster.com\/TeamDifficultyRankings.aspx\">ease rankings<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4132\/\">Tyrus Thomas<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4132\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4132\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> should also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagobreakingsports.com\/2010\/02\/bulls-address-loss-of-noah.html\">see more opportunities<\/a><br \/>\nin the games to come &#8211; in 20 games since returning from injury, he&#8217;s<br \/>\naveraged 8.8 points on 46-percent shooting, 6.6 boards, 1.4 steals, and<br \/>\n1.8 blocks in 24 minutes per game. You&#8217;d hope for more offense at this<br \/>\npoint, but those defensive numbers are big-time, and he&#8217;ll either be<br \/>\nplaying for a bigger rotation spot moving forward or auditioning for<br \/>\nanother team. <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4631\/\">Taj Gibson<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4631\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4631\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> (16 minutes, 0 points Wednesday) is also<br \/>\ndealing with plantar fasciitis, but he&#8217;s not (yet) at a point where<br \/>\nthey&#8217;ve discussed shutting him down.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"remaining-content\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull; <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/sports\/la-sp-lakers-fyi5-2010feb05,0,1849889.story\">Phil Jackson said<\/a> that it &quot;occurred&quot; to him during <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3118\/\">Kobe Bryant&#8217;s<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3118\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3118\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> five-point effort Wednesday that it might be prudent to give him some down time to help him deal with a broken finger, strained elbow, back spasms, and sprained ankle.
