Toyota said today that it will resume production at six North American assembly plants on Monday after a one-week shutdown due to a recall of 2.3 million vehicles that forced it to stop producing and selling eight models that account for nearly 60 percent of the company’s sale.<\/p>\n

Spokesman Mike Michels said that the company has enough replacement pedals to begin producing vehicles again.<\/p>\n

“There are sufficient repair parts for customer cars as well as areserve of pedals from last week’s stoppage, that we can begin production,” Michels said.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Separately, Toyota told its dealers that they can start selling the eight models starting Monday. It said that their customer repairs must come first before they can resume selling recalled models.<\/p>\n
