Michael Jackson\u2019s doctor has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the pop legend\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

The count alleges that Dr. Conrad Murray — the Houston physician who was with the King of Pop when he died last summer – “did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson\u2026in the commission of an unlawful act, not amounting to a felony; and in the commission of a lawful act which might have produced death, in an unlawful manner, and without due caution and circumspection.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Murray\u2019s attorney Ed Chernoff says the doctor will plead not guilty. <\/p>\n

Jackson, 50, hired Murray to be his personal physician as he prepared for a strenuous series of comeback performances at London’s O2 Arena last summer. Murray is believed to have given Michael an overdose of Propofol to treat the singing legend’s struggle with insomnia.<\/p>\n

Propofol is a hospital-strength anesthetic, so it’s unusual that it was being used simply help the star sleep.<\/p>\n

The cardiologist is scheduled to be arraigned at the courthouse adjacent to the Los Angeles International Airport Monday afternoon at 4:30 ET\/1:30 PT. If convicted, Murray could face up to 4 years in prison.<\/p>\n
