Members of Michael Jackson’s family entered the courthouse near Los Angeles International Airport on Monday to attend the court hearing for the pop star’s doctor, Conrad Murray, who has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with Jackson’s death.<\/p>\n
Parents Joe and Kathryn Jackson as well as brother Jermaine were seen entering the courthouse.<\/p>\n
Brian Oxman, Joe Jackson\u2019s attorney, said some family members were disappointed that the physician was charged only with involuntary manslaughter. <\/p>\n
He said he had spoken Monday to the singer\u2019s father and his sister, LaToya,\u00a0and that they\u00a0both feel more serious charges should have been filed. \u201cThere was danger to human life,\u201d Oxman said. \u201cI knew it; everyone else who knew about the prescription medication knew it. To say the perpetrator didn\u2019t know it I find to be unacceptable.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cThey thought the charges should be more serious than involuntary manslaughter,\u201d he said of Joe and LaToya Jackson. \u201cThere was disregard for the safety of human life.\u201d <\/p>\n
