{"id":297512,"date":"2010-02-09T09:35:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-09T14:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"e2249889-c78b-43e3-9643-b1d7d4aa587b:393491"},"modified":"2010-02-09T09:35:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-09T14:35:00","slug":"aastra-technologies-earnings-preview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/297512","title":{"rendered":"Aastra Technologies earnings preview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cisco Systems Inc.\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalpost.com\/story.html?id=2518698\" >earnings beat<\/a> and healthy guidance may signal a <a href=\"http:\/\/network.nationalpost.com\/np\/blogs\/tradingdesk\/archive\/2010\/02\/04\/cisco-results-signal-start-of-capex-cycle.aspx\" >renewed spending cycle<\/a> in the communications technology space, but its continued weakness in European revenues and orders doesn\u2019t bode well for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.financialpost.com\/markets\/company\/index.html?symbol=AAH&amp;id=31291\" >Aastra Technologies Ltd.<\/a> The Concord, Ontario-based company generates about half of its revenues in Germany, France and the Nordic region, and close to 25% in other European countries.<\/p>\n<p>Aastra is likely to report fourth quarter results on Feb. 16. National Bank Financial analyst Kris Thompson expects revenues or $220.9-million and earnings per share of 98\u00a2, compared to consensus at $220.2-million and EPS of $1.01. However, he warned clients that Aastra\u2019s top-line could miss.<\/p>\n<p>The analyst is nonetheless keeping his forecasts unchanged since the fourth quarter is seasonally strong and there should be pent-up demand for Aastra\u2019s solutions after two weak quarters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t expect any negative surprises regarding profitability and cash flow generation, which is our key focus,\u201d Mr. Thompson said.<\/p>\n<p>Aastra shares are currently trading around $30. The analyst considers the stock cheap if the company executes and has a price target of $45.
