\"\"CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — Schools across central Illinois are closed and police are handling dozens of ac-cidents as snow continues to fall.<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service says anywhere from 3 to 5 inches of snow fell across the region through early Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Another couple of inches is possible during the day and a little more overnight.<\/span>Forecasters expect blowing snow to become a problem by Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Most schools in Champaign, Bloomington, Peoria, Decatur and virtually every small town in between are closed.<\/p>\n

The Illinois State Police say they’ve handled more than 70 accidents on Interstate 57 in the Champaign vicinity alone.<\/p>\n
