I am currently in Karnataka.<br \/>\nI am leaving karnataka for good in one month and plan to drive back.<\/p>\n<p>I have photocopy of my DL with me (front page)..average quality b\/w<\/p>\n<p>RTO in punjab says I need to be there in person to get license as they issue only plastic card type license. Doesnt make sense to spend 8000+ to go and get a license and come back.<\/p>\n<p>RTO in bangalore can give me duplicate only if my address in license is bangalore&#8230; which it is not. Otherwise I have to go learner &#8211; dl route which takes more than 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>Any way out?<br \/>\nWhat would one do on a long trip if one lost the license on the way?<br \/>\nWill FIR + identification proof + photocopy work?<\/p>\n<p>please help&#8230; thanks in advance.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear all, I have lost my DL issued from Punjab.
