{"id":301658,"date":"2010-02-10T09:34:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-10T14:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gigaom.wordpress.com\/?p=98042"},"modified":"2010-02-10T09:34:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-10T14:34:00","slug":"planet-wimax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/301658","title":{"rendered":"Planet WiMAX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gigaom.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/4g_world.png?w=600&#038;h=290\" border=\"0\" alt=\"4g_world.png\" width=\"600\" height=\"290\"  class=\" alignleft\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The incumbent carriers may be considering <a href=\"http:\/\/gigaom.com\/tag\/lte\/\">Long Term Evolution (LTE)<\/a> as their post-3G wireless broadband technology, but <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegeography.com\/mail\/4g_press_2010.html\">new research from Telegeography shows<\/a> that <a href=\"http:\/\/gigaom.com\/tag\/wimax\/\">WiMAX<\/a> is no slouch and that deployments of the other wireless broadband technology are on the rise. According to their research, there are about 600 WiMAX networks either live or in planning-deployment stages. That should change in 2010 and beyond as we start to see large carriers such as Verizon and AT&amp;T start to roll out their LTE-based wireless broadband networks.<\/p>\n<p>But some analysts believe <a href=\"http:\/\/gigaom.com\/2010\/02\/01\/wimax-a-dress-rehearsal-for-ltes-opening-night\/\">that all is not over for WiMAX<\/a>.
